Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) is an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. One of her first Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers both on screen and stage for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. It will also be available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the leading the show. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over a century. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant character. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Also, she has appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits his time between Los Angeles.
